The government of Sri Lanka is investing AED 2.25 billion on a new airport and expansion of existing facilities, while Pakistan will spend more than AED 2.4 billion on new airports and upgrading of existing ones.
In Africa, the value of airport projects includes AED 2 billion in Sudan, AED 3 billion in Egypt, AED 3 billion in Tunisia, AED 1 billion in Libya, AED 2 billion in Morocco and AED 2.6 billion in South Africa.
In Saudi Arabia, the AED 40 billion expansion of King Abdul Aziz International Airport in Jeddah is in progress. Qatar is investing AED 40 billion in the New Doha International Airport, while Bahrain International Airport will double in size when the current AED 3 billion expansion is completed.
Oman plans six more regional airports and a total spend of AED 11 billion, and Kuwait is investing almost AED 8 billion on expansion of its international airport.
