The Sharjah Airport Authority (SAA) announced that beginning in 2024, 'Fly Oya' flights will connect Sharjah Airport with Tripoli, Libya. This decision is in line with SAA's ambitious goals of expanding the airport's destination options. 'Fly Oya' will service the new route once a week out of Tripoli's Mitiga Airport with an Airbus A330. With the launch of three new airlines and seven new passenger destinations, Sharjah Airport saw significant development in 2023. Additionally, three air freight firms began operating weekly, leading to an improvement in cargo services. The airport's growth plans and the increasing number of passengers are driving these strategic changes.
