Dubai, April 15, 2019: emaratech, a technology and management consulting company which is part of the Investment Corporation Dubai (ICD), is capitalizing on its strong participation in the 2019 edition of Airport Show to showcase its collection of cutting-edge technology products, with the key highlight being the Smart Corridor, a first of its kind in the world product that is helping authorities in effective border control and ensuring seamless passenger experience at airports.

As the pressure to effectively handle 450 million passengers by 2020 increases, airports in the Arabian Gulf are deploying Smart airport solutions for driving efficiency, increasing security and improving the passenger experience.  emaratech, the Arab world’s undisputed leader in Border Control and Seamless Passenger Experience solutions, is going all out to tap the global smart airport market expected to be worth US$14.87 billion by 2021.

In its 19th edition, the Airport Show will be held at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) from 29 April 29 – 1 May.  Airport Show is being organised under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group.

In addition to displaying Eyen, Smart Corridor, and Next Generation Border (NGE) solution, emaratech will also be showcasing the Smart Trolley which allows passengers to power their personal devices and acts as a real-time Way Finding device in the airport via an interactive 3D-map. For flight and gate information, the device updates the information on a real-time basis for passengers at the airports.

The biggest Seamless Passenger Experience product is Smart Corridor which enables passenger to enter the corridor in a sequence and their Iris will be captured on the fly without the need to present any travel document or stand in queue for Iris capture.

Smart Corridor is currently under operational experiment at T3 Departure. Because of Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities and Iris recognition biometrics, officials are allowed recognition while the passengers are moving, wearing sunglasses or contact lens, and even running – accurately and quickly.

With a record capture speed of less than two seconds, ‘eyen’ is the most convenient and secure verification technology in the region.  The ‘eyen' iris recognition system performs simultaneous document and iris scans to verify a traveller's identity. The ‘eyen’ technology enhance passengers’ experience with minimal amount of changes in habit norms.
